Production Buyer – FT (Remote – CO, MI, NC, PA, VA Only)

This role is integral to Bonfire’s ability to manage capacity as we continue to grow by leaps and bounds. To be successful in this position, you’ll have a few years of experience managing a supply chain as well as personally developing the network of its suppliers. You’ll have sourced, procured, and priced. But what you most want us to know about you is that you’re a resourceful, problem-solving go-getter driven by initiative with an entrepreneurial spirit. We’re based in Richmond, Virginia, but you can live and work remotely in Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Colorado or Michigan. 


Core Responsibilities of a Production Buyer

  • Understand the expertise and limitations of potential partners
  • Negotiate pricing, requirements, and terms of new partner relationships
  • Onboard new print partners to align our processes for sending orders, payments, and handling issues such as reprints
  • Test product and print quality by ordering and evaluating physical samples 
  • Track our forecasted volume trends and partner capacities 
  • Set and maintain key metrics to strengthen our partner network
  • Identify cost savings opportunities, get internal buy-in, and implement improvements
  • Knowledge of SQL or other Business Intelligence tools to track metrics and gain insights
  • General experience or interest related to the print-on-demand industry including and beyond apparel (accessories, paper products, home goods, embroidery, etc.)

  • Ensure alignment between the daily tasks and metrics
  • Meet individual metrics
  • Accurately maintain team-level data
  • Seek opportunities to refine processes and create efficiencies
  • Make project-level decisions based on broadly defined parameters
  • Communicate clearly and with integrity with external partners and internal teams
  • Treat everyone with empathy & respect
